Thus says the LORD:
Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom,
Let not the mighty man glory in his might, Nor let the rich man glory in his riches;
But let him who glories glory in this, That he understands and knows Me,
That I am the LORD, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth.
For in these I delight,” says the LORD.
Amplified Bible
Thus says the Lord: Let not the wise and skillful person glory and boast in his wisdom and skill;
Let not the mighty and powerful person glory and boast in his strength and power;
Let not the person who is rich [in physical gratification and earthly wealth] glory and boast in his
[temporal satisfactions and earthly] riches;
But let him who glories glory in this: that he understands and knows Me
[personally and practically, directly discerning and recognizing My character],
that I am the Lord, Who practices loving-kindness, judgment, and righteousness
in the earth, for in these things I delight, says the Lord.

“Don’t let the wise boast in their wisdom, or the powerful boast in their power,
or the rich boast in their riches. But those who wish to boast should boast in this alone:
that they truly know me and understand that I am the Lord
who demonstrates unfailing love and who brings justice and righteousness
to the earth, and that I delight in these things. I, the Lord, have spoken!

The Lord says, “Let not a wise man speak with pride about his wisdom.
Let not the strong man speak with pride about his strength.
And let not a rich man speak with pride about his riches.
But let him who speaks with pride speak about this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord who
shows loving-kindness and does what is fair and right and good on earth.

The LORD proclaims: the learned should not boast of their knowledge,
nor warriors boast of their might, nor the rich boast of their wealth.
No, those who boast should boast in this: that they understand and know me.
I am the LORD who acts with kindness, justice, and righteousness in the world,
and I delight in these things, declares the LORD.
Contemporary English Version
The LORD says: Don't brag about your wisdom or strength or wealth.
If you feel you must brag, then have enough sense to brag about worshiping me, the LORD.
What I like best is showing kindness, justice, and mercy to everyone on earth.
The Message
God's Message: "Don't let the wise brag of their wisdom.
Don't let heroes brag of their exploits. Don't let the rich brag of their
riches. If you brag, brag of this and this only: That you understand and know
me. I'm God, and I act in loyal love. I do what's right and set things right and
fair, and delight in those who do the same things. These are my
trademarks." God's Decree.
God’s Word Translation
This is what the Lord says: Don’t let wise people brag about their wisdom.
Don’t let strong people brag about their strength.
Don’t let rich people brag about their riches.
If they want to brag, they should brag that they understand and know me.
They should brag that I, the Lord, act out of love, righteousness, and justice on the earth.
This kind of bragging pleases me, declares the Lord.
